The Village

Langthorpe is a village situated in North Yorkshire, on the north bank of the river Ure opposite Boroughbridge. The name means ‘long settlement’, and the village runs along the west of Leeming Lane, which goes north to Kirby Hill and to the west, along the river bank towards Skelton-on-Ure. Farms, mainly used for arable crops but with some sheep, pigs and chickens surround the village. The changes to the route of the AI has made this village more pleasant and over the last 30 years it has expanded, with a number of houses and small estates being built, making this village a very desirable address.
